  • Packaging meals to be frozen for future delivery

  • Washing tables and setting tables

Meal Delivery Driver

Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays – 10:00 am

We are looking for drivers to assist one day per week.  Meals for Seniors, Inc. does not own vehicles; meal delivery drivers are required to use their own vehicles.  We do provide delivery coolers for the drivers to transport food in.  If needed, we will reimburse drivers for their mileage, or mileage can be deducted on your tax filing at the federally set rate.

Each driver must have a valid vehicle registration, carry car insurance and have a valid driver’s license.

Duties include:

  • Picking up the meals at the designated time (10:00 am) at our kitchen at St. Mary by the Sea Church in Rockaway Beach. Drivers will be given a delivery list for that day, and deliver the meals.

  • Meals cannot be left on the porch so if no one is home, meals need to be returned to the meal site.

  • Delivery routes are developed to ensure efficiency and driver safety.

  • Record and turn in number of hours volunteered.

Please call 503-317-8967 if you are interested in volunteering, or email us at mealsforseniorsinc@gmail.com, to sign up and we will get back to you as soon as possible.  Thank you for considering this important volunteer effort.

We have a current Volunteer Handbook we would be happy to send to you electronically in order for you to learn more about our operations and volunteer opportunities.

If you are interested in volunteering in our community, but are unable to assist Meals for Seniors, please consider volunteering for the Hope Chest, Rockaway Beach Library, Rockaway Beach Volunteers rbvolunteers1@gmail.com, or the City of Rockaway Beach Fire Department.
